In 1998, the American Red Cross selected Mike as their wilderness rescue hero. He is the author of Mount Rainier: A Climbing Guide, and has summited the mountain over 170 times. In addition, he has successfully led six expeditions to Mount McKinley and the Alaska Range and one to Aconcagua. Gautier has been struck by lightning three times and caught in avalanches, leading Men's Journal to select him as one of the 25 Toughest Men in North America. Actually, my programs tend to be 1 hour plus, but never 2 hours... That leaves time for the after talk festivities. As for the blog, I'm trying to get something up tonight.
