Shane1 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Hi all, I'm looking for climbing partners to rope up with above Camp Muir on the DC route mid- late August on a weekend. I don't have a lot of big glacier experience, but am quite fit and have summited Mt. Shasta twice solo, once in under 7 hours in poor conditions from Bunny Flat(6950') to the summit(14,162'). Thanks, Shane Quote
turbo Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I'd be interested. I have crevasse training and a few cascade climbs under my belt. Email me lizenni@gmail.com. Quote
TheAxe Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I am also very interested. Many cascade/strato-volcano climbing experience, but have always wanted to do the DC. Email me at mdobie012@yahoo.com. Thanks dude Quote
als9775 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) If the three of you are all set, need two more? I just got word that my third wheel is backing out and I'm really disappointed. Our summit was for the last weekend in Aug. Please email me at als9775@yahoo.com. Both have crevasse training and one of us has been to the summit. Edited July 31, 2007 by als9775 Quote
Roman2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 What dates are you planning to do? A few of us were thinking of heading up either this weekend or the next and needed another partner. Quote
peter57 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I'm interested. Have done Baker, El Dorado, Little Tahoma and Shuksan so far this summer. Peter Quote
Lukic Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I too am interested and currently have the last two weekends in August available for climbing as well as many weekdays in the beginning and end of August. I've been up Rainier several times by DC, ID, and Emmons. If anyone is interested in any other mountains, send me a message. Lukic Quote
kcclimber3 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I read on the Mt. Rainier website that the DC route is no longer a viable and safe route; Crevasses are wide open and too dangerous to negotiate. Climbers have been dropping down off of Ingraham Flats and over to the Emmons. Quote
Shane1 Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 Lukic, Email me at shaneinsacto@sbcglobal.net in regards to Rainier/Emmons Aug.18-19. Shane Quote
