Anyone else going to see Branford Marsalis at Jazz Alley? It should be a good show.

Sounds like a great show, I wanted to go but we had trouble finding a sitter

I saw wynton Marsalis at the SEattle Symphony a few years ago. he was one of the best performers I saw that year--perfectly home on stage. Bramford did a bit on his sax that night.

 

You are going to be in for a treat (even though Jazz Alley itself sucks--I have seen a lot of good performances there).

When they get into the solo section you have no doubt this is the 21st Century.

My son was told by Dave Marriot that Marsalis is not currently promoting a new release, but just touring for its own sake. This means one can expect a good mix of his music both new and old. One might even hear unreleased material.
