Jer Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Trip: Mt Ellinor - winter route Date: 4/28/2007 Trip Report: Seattle Mountaineers scramble, party of five. Parked above the lower TH around 08:45, took the shortcut trail from the bend in the road up to the upper TH. Encountered maybe 100 yds of icy packed snow on the upper part of the trail, nothing too serious just took a little extra care, otherwise no terrain problems at all. Snow in the chute was in good condition, no avalanche danger, no ice, good step-kicking snow. Mostly cloudy but no precipitation; the sun broke out briefly while on the summit, around 12:30. The 1000' glissade made for a quick return trip. Approach Notes: Road clear to bend @ 3000', above lower TH. Quote
climberbro16 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Thanks for the report! Gonna be heading up this weekend. Glad to hear the road is clear.. Quote
neswstar Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 It was nice to see you guys at the top (we were the party of 11). You looked much better suited than the bluejeans and tank tops we saw coming up on our way down. Hope you were amused by the demo for our first timers. Great day!!! (nice tr) Quote
Off_White Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 judging from the 15 cars I saw parked at the base of the spur road up to the upper TH on 5-5-07, I'd say that road is not yet clear. Quote
