PLC Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I'll be down in California with my family in March, and we'll be heading to Joshua Tree for a couple days and I'd like to take my son on some really easy boulders. Is there someplace within a mile or two of the road with easy boulders and soft landings? Alternatively, is there a really easy top-rope area? He's about to turn four, but he's got shoes and a harness. Quote

As far as easy top ropes….you might have to find some 4th class terrain and set up and anchor. Have fun. Jtree rules. Quote
beecher Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 trashcan rock has lots of short beginner routes. if i'm remembering correctly it's located between the park entrance and hidden valley. you won't have trouble finding some rocks to have fun on. Quote
Off_White Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Short rope him up any of the easiest ways up the formations around hidden valley, he'll dig it. Quote
