Jens Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Due to the rain, I've been out to Vantage for the last 2 weekends after essentially a 6 year hiatus from the place. I've noticed over the last two weekends that on many of the entabluture sport routes that I had done in the past, many of the holds have come off over time. The changes made some routes way easier and some way harder. This was the case for almost half the routes I got on. Holds coming off is nothing new, but I even took a big foothold off myself and noticed this trend on almost half the routes. Take the ratings with a grain of salt. I'd never thought I'd say this but, Hey vantage has some really fun new lines these days! Quote
catbirdseat Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 There is a route down there called Clipping the Cornea, 5.7. Something must have come off of that one or else it was never rated right in the first place. It's hard for 5.7. Quote

catbirdseat Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 There is a route called Duress, 5.9 at Sunshine, Near End. There is a loose hold early in the pitch. If it comes off, it's might raise the grade some. Quote
hutbar Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I spent last weekend in the Coulee. Got to be my new fav. place to go durring the rainy Squamish winters. Steep climbing, dry weather, and free camping right at the craigs. I'm comming back a.s.a.p. Vantage rocks I don't care what anyone says! Quote
