turn_one Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 what would you climb if you were relatively new to the scene here and wanted a day climb done solo, last minute like, this sat. iv'e only been to the olympics once, mt angeles w/ the girl and wanted something more challenging. previous posts are pointing towards constance or brothers, ??? thanks Quote
Skisports Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 Washington all you need is ice axe its a good start Quote
Skisports Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 bro have you ever seen anyone ski washington before I was thinking about doing some of those chutes some time but I just hate carrying my skis Quote
Norman_Clyde Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Deception is usually considered a 2 day affair because of a 6 mile approach to Royal Basin, but if you move fast you could do it in one long day (no longer than for Constance or the Brothers). Quote
climberbro16 Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Nope I havent seen anyone ski Washington. But Ive heard of it being done. I should be going up there Next weekend. If I do Ill tell you the conditions, if you dont check for yourself. Quote

rollo Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 OW: I've scoped the north side routes on Washington. Some of em look really fun. Only bad part is the bushwack in, but this early in the season it shouldn't be too bad. Let me know how it goes. Quote
Off_White Posted June 1, 2002 Posted June 1, 2002 Anyone been on the Northside routes on Washington? I'm contemplating the Great Groove for Sunday... Quote
roboclimber Posted June 3, 2002 Posted June 3, 2002 Turn_one, the Jefferson Pass trail to Mnt Washington was very interesting. Nice view from the ridge. Next time on Washington I'll do the other trail head. I would like to go back to Jefferon Pass later in the summer with more rope, pro and and earlier start. I would like to crack a route up there. Later dude! Quote
turn_one Posted June 3, 2002 Author Posted June 3, 2002 yeah robo, sure was cool. maybe the better option for the day would have been descending into the snowfield to the left and up the chute from there, cause i know the route at least originates along that ridge. if you're taking another stab, let me know, i'll join you. what do you have planned for the year?? did you have a in hoodsport?? later Quote
