Ruth Mountain Beta

The only other time I've been on Ruth was on skis early spring when the glacier was a non-issue. Anyone been up there lately and know if you need to rope for this one or if unroped travel is fine.

Glacier is a non-issue. No rope needed, no poons needed. No axe needed either unless you really want it or get there in the early morning.

I've done it in August before. I think some of us roped up, some didn't and I don't think anyone bothered on the way down.

I did it last August. I did rope up, for dear old dad. But the only way to fall in a crevasse is to stand on the edge and hurl yourself in. So leave it at home.
