good newby areas

I'm looking for suggestions for weekend trip. I'm a moderate sport climber, and beginning trad leader, and I'll be taking a couple of other beginners with me. I'm looking for either car camping (on-site or close), or low key approach (we have one night only, and want to make the best of it). Any ideas?

It's going to be hot this weekend. I'd normally say Leavenworth and Playground Point, but it's going to be so hot there. It won't be fun.

Vantage has some good beginner stuff. Climb in the morning and jump in the river when it gets too hot to climb. Car camping is just a short walk away.

Zig Zag wall faces east. You can climb there on a hot day. One side of the Feathers is always in the shade also.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean single pitch climbs? If so, then yes, it's all single pitch.

are there any walls kind of local to tacoma? besides the spanaway one or the wilkeson one?

Not sure which one the Spanaway one is. Are you referring to Fossil Rock?

Nah, probably means Spire Rock, with the graffitied holds, and broken glass for the exciting sit start

As somebody who also is a moderate sport and new trad leader, I really like Tieton. Spend one day at Royal Columns doing easy (5.4 to 5.9)trad then Lava point and clip 5.10 bolts to relax. I visited Fossil a few weeks ago- it's an "interesting" place, worth a day, but it took as long to drive there and walk in (gate was locked) as it would to get to Tieton or the Exits (32 and 38,)and I was coming from Olympia.
