kcclimber3 Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I've got 2 trips coming up: Emmons Route on Rainier in 12 days followed immedidately with a trip to Grand Teton. The excitement has been building for 2 months and is now totally consuming my every thought: Gear check, buy more 'stuff', train...train hard-train smart. What 'stuff' am I missing? Buy back-up for my back-up stuff! When I go to work, I can barely concentrate on anything but "how many hours til I get on the plane for Seattle, and DO I NEED TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!!" I've got the bug! Quote
catbirdseat Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Having just climbed Rainier, I would advise that you concentrate on what NOT to bring. Heavy packs make for unpleasant and slow climbing trips. Quote
whidbey Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I think what catbirdseat mentions is the most important things to think about climbing Rainier... Leave excess shit at the car. Go as light as you can and you will have much more fun. Good luck. It's a damn long walk! Quote
