Sea_Dub Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Want to find a fairly easily accessible site on Rainer to practice glacier rescue, setting anchors, self rescue, pulleys, etc. Any tips on good sites appreciated. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Why not practice on Baker instead? Lots of good sites on lower Coleman. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I agree with Dru. At this time of year, Baker is probably the better place to go. Quote
Sea_Dub Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks for the tip. We'll head up to Baker. Quote
mattp Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 If you do go to Rainer, I'm sure you can find some spots on the lower Nisqually, by dropping down the hill from Alta Vista, the viewpoint about 20 minutes up the hill from Paradise. The Coleman may be better in terms of being a little more readily manageable, though. Quote
