wayne Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 This sucks, but SAR Kittitas is looking for a woman who summited and hiked most of the way out friday and hasnt been seen since. I wanted to help more but understandably wasnt allowed to. It is tricky staying on the trail now with the snow. I couldnt find a news link yet to the story. Out of respect for those involved, I wont share more details. Hope this turns out well though. Quote
marylou Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I was in the area Friday-Sunday. A couple of my compatriots saw the whole situation unfold. When they came down from Daniel, the partner was there with the sherriff, SAR had not yet arrived. That was around dinner time yesterday. The compatriots should be back in Seattle by now, let me know if being put in touch with them might help. Lot of snow still present in that area. Safe travels to SAR and I really hope they found her today. Quote
dr_agon Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 KIRO just reported her found. Apparently she is fine. Quote
wayne Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Awesome news. I should have been more optomistic, there arent alot of places she could go once in the valley Quote
marylou Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 That's great news, thanks. My guys were comfortably ensconced in a cabin by the S la S campground (as was I) and the two Daniel guys really felt that they should have done more to keep that situation from developing at all. I forwarded them onto this thread, and I'm sure they will, as I was, be happy to hear she made it out. As Wayne said, the drainage is pretty tight, in any case, thanks to SAR for getting this woman home safe and sound. We were all pretty worried about her safety last night. Quote
