LhotseDreems Posted May 23, 2001 Posted May 23, 2001 Hey, anyone know about snow conditions up in the Pass? Looking at Thompson, anyone been back there recently? Quote
mikeadam Posted May 23, 2001 Posted May 23, 2001 Lhotse, Hey there! I haven't been back there recently, but Jim Graham told me today that you can still ski all the way to alpental parking lot so there is plenty of snow on the ground. Bring skis for the approach and expect winter/spring travel conditions. You can also call ProSki in North Bend to talk to Martin Volken who skied Alaska mountain a few days ago. I'm sure he had a good view of the peak itself and can give you details about the route conditions firsthand. Tell Nick hello, and that I'm honing my 5.14c deathgrip!! Quote
LhotseDreems Posted May 23, 2001 Author Posted May 23, 2001 Hey Mike, Thanks for the update. I appreciate it {{lol}} i'll let Nick know. And you'd better be working on it ("5.14c Deathgrip") you never know when those Rangers will come for ya.... Quote
RB Posted May 27, 2001 Posted May 27, 2001 We scrambled up Snoqualmie Mtn yesterday. The Alpental parking lot was completely dry, and not much snow in the trees until we hit about 4200' (this on a steep slope that faces SW). The open ridge going up the south side of Snoqualmie Mtn (4800' to 6200') had a lot of snow in places (3-5'), but there was also a lot of bare ground. The north-eastern slopes of Chair Peak and the Tooth appeared to have signficant snow still. Quote
