mr.radon Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 A friend is heading up, is that trailhead road still washed out? If so do they ever plan to re-open it? Quote
MountaingirlBC Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I was hoping to do that one this weekend but I don't think it can be done reasonably in 3 days. Yes, both the main access roads are out. Best access now seems to be North Fork Sauk River Trail via Sloan Creek/North Fork Sauk Road #49 which puts you 8.2 miles from White Pass. mattp Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 It is a fairly long way, but you can do it in three days without being an uber-athelete. The Forest Service plans to reopen the White Chuck Road, or at least part of it, but now is a good time to enjoy Glacier Peak as a more remote wilderness destination. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Matt is correct. This time of year it might be really fun with skiis. Quote
