Off_White Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I know the Columns and Bend and such will be fine, I was wondering if anyone had been up by Lava Point or Wildcat Wall, whether there were any snow or access issues. I figure ticks are a given, sounds like a bumper crop this year. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I forget the name of the cliff captured in the cover shot but recently there was still a ton of snow that high. I know you didn't ask about it but I thought I'd throw the info down. My guess would be that Lava is fine. Quote
slothrop Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Any raptor closures? Thinking about going there this weekend. Quote
gosolo Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Howdy, Drove up to Wildcat wall last weekend. There is still a little snow on the road and it was fairly cool when I was there. However, it is climbable for sure! One of the crags down the river, The Bend I think is closed due to nesting Golden Eagles. This is the cliff where you park at the Quonset Hut and cross the little bridge. There are orange signs saying No Human Activity beyond these signs or some such thing. I was going to go to Lava but didnt get there. Is it not higher than Wildcat Wall? I have only been to Tieton a couple times. Have Fun. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Lava faces south and is on your right as you drive the FS road to Wildcat, so if WC is open, Lava surely is. Quote
