Drederek Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Hey Off, any chance of getting an online update on current conditions about midday today? I'm back from the beach and need to pull some sweet Tenino sandstone!
jibby Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 the rock at my house was dry but the grass was wet.(south facing)
Off_White Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 It will be climable, but perhaps not optimum. The ground is still quite wet, and the rock feels a trifle damp this morning. It's still overcast, we could really use a sunny afternoon to dry things off nicely.
Drederek Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hard to believe a Scotsman would let a wee bit o dampness scare im off!
dom Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 i know, and whats worse is i went climbing indoors instead
jibby Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 How could you, thats so bad. So hypocrital i know.
dom Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 the new route Gloater is awesome, well done jimmy off etc. I'm looking forward to trying the other new one next week as well. its nice to have more 5.10's to choose from there.
Off_White Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 Weather's clearing up, looks good for tomorrow night. I'll be off doing parent duty at the high school open house, but that doesn't mean ya'll shouldn't come on out and have a good time.
Drederek Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Looks like we'll be out early - maybe 2:30. Off, if you have any extra time at all when you get in come on over and get some!
Off_White Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Yeah, I'm thinking the season will be closing down soon, so I'm planning on knocking off work early tomorrow. Get it while you can!
Drederek Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Yikes! The forecast after wednesday is looking grim. Guess we'll have to make it a good one if its gonna be the last for a while!
Off_White Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 Was this the last good day of the season? Â Drederek on Black Elvis 9-26-07
Drederek Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Hey Off, Hows the cliff looking for friday afternoon -> full moonlight climbing tomorrow? It should be rising just a little after sunset!
Off_White Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 I haven't checked, but the hillside is not saturated yet, so I'm sure some things are climbable. C'mon out.
jibby Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 i'm gonna have to miss fri, but mabey on monday? is this o.k. with you Off?
Off_White Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 Sure, just keep me posted. We're into the season where day of the week doesn't mean much compared to what the weather has been doing. Just let me know (pm, email, or telephone) when you want to come out so my family knows when there's someone in the front yard.
Off_White Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Well, with the looming time change, I'm going to unsticky this until that time comes around again. Have a great winter all, feel free to contact me if the weather makes a rally and you've got an open midday.
Drederek Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 How's it looking out there Off? I'm wondering if wednesday may be possible if it doesn't rain too hard tomorrow. Or is it just oozing and dripping away? Â
Off_White Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 (edited) Okay, it's officially time for the Son of the Return of Olympia Climbing Wednesdays at the quarry in Tenino. Every Wednesday from 4:30 on, PM me for directions if you haven't been before.  Fine appurtenances  Black Elvis 11a    Here's an old photo of the far right end showing a few of the 35 routes out here. Some of the info is obsolete: Hercules and Calvin & Hobbes are 10b, Shaking Hands With The Governor has a direct finish that's harder than 10b if you're under 5' 10", and all routes in this shot are now bolted for the lead.
