Wales_Boy Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 hey, anyone out there have experience in getting life insurance including covering rock climbing? I got one quote which wants to tack on $2.50 annually for each $1,000 of coverage, ie estimates my annual death chance climbing at one in 250. Seems a bit high! Are there better quotes out there, or does everyone just lie and hope they don't die climbing?? Quote
dalius Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 As I recall there was an extensive discussion on this a while back. Do search. Quote
StickBoy Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 without being a climber, I was quoted $43/ month for 500 thousand dollar policy. After I told them I was a climber, my rates are now $143/ month. They said the only reason I was allowed coverage is because I have Mt. Rescue and teaching experience. Good luck finding good rates. Quote
rbwen Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 My wife and I got life insurance and disability but neither would cover us for 'mountain climbing' as the insurance company called it. For the policy we chose any injuries/death sustained would not be covered....unless we wanted to pay through the teeth. Quote
