Were going to try and climb the north ridge this weekend,if we do the Johndurm,(sorry about spelling) can we haul packs, or must we lead with them.

you can easily haul packs on the *gendarme*, as it is pretty straight and steep. better, though, if you can do the whole route with a single backpack carried by the second - saves a lot of time and fuss.

Hey Paul,

Are you going to do the lower north ridge? Cause if you are the "squeeze slot" on the Lower North Ridge, East side is much worse with a pack than the Gendarme is.
