ASK Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hey! I will be traveling to Seattle (on business) around Memorial Day this spring. And I thought it would be great to take a few days off and go climbing. Can anyone suggest to me any descent trad climbing in the vicinity of Seattle? Please point me to the resources (how to get there; typical conditions; available guide book(s); web links, etc). Yeah... I also should start looking for a partner. Anyone interested? Thanks in advance. ASK akarnoup@hotmail.com Quote
Alpinfox Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Index. 70min from downtown Seattle. Guidebook By the way, there is no need to post the same question in three different places on this website. Quote
tivoli_mike Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 oh and bring a rainshell. its usually wet around memorial day. Quote
glm Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Leavenworth, about 2 hours east of Seattle. Much more likely to be dry on Memorial Day weekend and a wider variety of difficulties. Plenty of camping and some hotels in town. Index is generally harder stuff, 5.11 and up; Leavenworth has a bit of everything, plus a bunch of sport if you want to do any of that. Plus good food & beer at Uli's in town. Quote
