access to south side of Adams

has anyone been up to the South Climb Trailhead on Adams recently? I am wondering how close you can get in a car or similar ride, do you need a 4x4 or a sled to get anywhere near the mountain?

I have friends that have friends that were suppose to.......but I haven't heard back.....waiting for a call.....I'll post when I hear.........

we bailed on the trip for last weekend and went rock climbing at Darrington instead. it would be nice to know what you hear from your friends for future reference though.
