Climb: Ptarmigan Peak-Ptarmigan Creek "High Route"

 

Date of Climb: 9/2/2005

 

Trip Report:

 

Ptarmigan Peak is north of the Lago/Carru/Osceola group in the Pasayten Wilderness.

 

This is really a ramble, not a climb, but it's some beautiful country and full of larches -- would make a great October outing.

Gear Notes:

Just a light daypack (once at camp, that is). Trekking poles are nice.

I just got back from a 6 day trip to the Pasayten .. the larches were in full swing. I saw yours or Brian's summit entry on several of the peaks I climbed. Awesome country up there!

 

On a side note, did you guys encounter any psycho squirrels up there? The little critters were going bonkers. I have never seen such aggressive squirrels.
