Mt. Despair -- Anyone been there?

Hi all:

 

I'm wondering if anyone has done the std. route up Mt. Despair as described in Kearney's book. Two days or three? Worth the trip in the fall, even if the snow would be gone?

I have been there. Up the standard route. Camped at Triumph pass. Took me two days round trip. First day did Triumph via standard route. Second day did Despair and some bumps along the way and back to car. It is always nicer to do it in three days...but if you do not have the time.....hint: to do it in two days requires good physical shape for that amount of distance. Hardest part was the traverse back from Triumph Pass along scree to the lakes.

Yeah. Was worth the effort. Would have liked to take three days to do it. Two days was a bit much. I think 4 days would have been overkill.
