Road to Hell Roaring Creek TH

Does anyone know how bad the road is to get to the approach to the Finger of Fate in ID?

I've read that 4WD is needed, but is it really that bad?

The road is a little rough. I don't think you necessarily need a 4WD vehicle, but I wouldn't take a small compact car up there.

 

If you don't mind hiking a few extra miles along the creek, you can park at a TH 1 mile or less off Highway 75.

Lots of big loose rocks all over the road- I generally don't mind beating the shit out of a car, but I parked the car after about a mile or so. Hiking in along the road is easy, and will probably only add an hour each way.
