CraigA Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I'm taking a friend up Adams and he wants to do the South Side (newbie, plus he had a relative climb the South Side years ago and he wants to do the same route). Anyway, I've climbed Adams 3 times but never from the south, so I am wondering how long the approach is from the trailhead to the Lunch Counter? Any help is greatly appreciated, Craig Quote
counterfeitfake Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Dunno the mileage but it took us about 3.5 hours. Quote
scott_johnston Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Climbed the south climbers route Sunday the 24th with a group of high schoolers most of whom had never climbed any mountain. We left the trail head at 5:45am and were at the lunch counter at 8:30am and on top at 11:45am. Back at trailhead at 2:15pm. Went with running shoes and ski poles and lots of water. Can't really see what the point is of lugging a tent to 9000' unless you just like to carry a heavy pack and sleep outdoors. It is certainly doable in a relatively easy day from the parking lot.
