murraysovereign Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 I've been using "Nero" to burn CDs, and have noticed the CD player can't tell when these burned CDs have ended. It gets to the end of the last track, and just keeps spinning away. Is there some little piece of code analogous to a "period" I can insert after the last track to tell the player to stop, or is this something I just need to accept and get on with my life? Quote
Off_White Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 somewhere in the burning software will be a little box to check that will "finalize disc" which will provide that little bit of punctuation to your cd's. If you can't find it, check for that term in the help index. good luck. Quote
Ricardo_Montalban Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 you shouldn't have to finalize the disc to stop the drive from 'spinning'...nero is capable of leaving a disc appendable. although, OW suggestion would be a good one if you don't want to add any more data. Quote
murraysovereign Posted July 3, 2005 Author Posted July 3, 2005 Hmmm... the "finalize CD" box was already checked, and subsequent CDs burned with that box checked are still just spinning when they get to the end. Maybe it's just a cheap POS CD player, or... any other suggestions? Quote
badvoodoo Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Sounds just like the CD player is an old one, but you might try updating the firmware on the burner itself. Kind of a hassle to dig up for a "techno-idiot", but if you can figure out what make and model the burner is, you can get the latest firmware off the manufacturer's website, usually just as a nifty click-and-run program.
