Only a couple hours of hiking/walking on them (mainly around the office). No funky smell. Size 45. I trimmed part of one lug on each boot to accommodate rear crampon bails. I wear a 44.5 in the La Sprotiva Lhotse with room to spear so 45 would be great for myself in the nuptse. I was wondering if you had any pictures of them because its always nice to see a real image before you buy something. Also if you'd ship them up to a Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
