Blake
I've got a petzl Ecrin rock, but it's at the heavy end of things. Does anyone have a favorite helmet that will work for alpine climbs, and weighs at least a few ounces less? Obviously it should still protect my noggin from falling choss my partners try and kick down on me.
thelawgoddess
the ecrin roc rocks ... despite its weight. i haven't been able to find a lighter one that is as comfy. really depends on how they fit your head. i'd go to a shop and try a few on ... kenp
I don't like the way the ecrin rock fits (I have a pony-tail) and I too thought it is a bit heavy, although a sturdy bucket. I have a edelrid ultra-light and like the fit much better. at 410 grams, you save that ounce you're looking for. it is a bit narrow and sits a little high but has plenty of vent holes and the headlight clips are flawless. Couloir
Another vote for the Edelrid Ultralite. I love mine. I haven't used it in really warm environments, but I have heard it can be too warm. I'm not concered about it though.

Dr_Crash
My BD half dome works great. My only issue with it is that the adjustment is done by velcro, and I'm not sure how long that thing will last. drC
