I've got a petzl Ecrin rock, but it's at the heavy end of things. Does anyone have a favorite helmet that will work for alpine climbs, and weighs at least a few ounces less? Obviously it should still protect my noggin from falling choss my partners try and kick down on me.

I don't like the way the ecrin rock fits (I have a pony-tail) and I too thought it is a bit heavy, although a sturdy bucket. I have a edelrid ultra-light and like the fit much better. at 410 grams, you save that ounce you're looking for. it is a bit narrow and sits a little high but has plenty of vent holes and the headlight clips are flawless.

Another vote for the Edelrid Ultralite. I love mine. thumbs_up.gif I haven't used it in really warm environments, but I have heard it can be too warm. I'm not concered about it though.
