deskjockie Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I know it's been sloppy between 5-7000'. Anyone have any info on south side conditions? Thinking of a slog up Friday the 15th if the clouds part. Thanks. Quote

jaee Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Did SS last weekend, Sat. April 9 w/ David, David, Preston. High winds & snow to top o' palmer, better Wx afterwards. Snow conditions good, from windcrust to 8" wind deposits. Hogsback & chute in good condition, good steps, not too icy. Downclimbed 150' into Old Chute & strapped skis on for the first turn of the season dropping in. Skied down into whiteout at top of Palmer again on pretty good snow by Crater Rock & Ill Saddle. Good day and great timing on the Wx window, D Quote
penelope_pitstop Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 summitted south side on sunday, 4/10. fine viz. schrund was closed. pearly gates in good condition, not too steep, after all that snow last 2 weeks. summitted at 9am, suprisingly wind free. i think conditions were a lot easier than party who went up on sat. have fun if you go up.
