Ripper Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 After seeing a review in one of the mags last year, I went to their website, themagicline.com, and checked out the gear. Looked like interesting stuff but not sold anywhere. Tonight I looked again, still same interesting stuff, but again can't see that its actually sold anywhere. Seems strange to spend marketing dollars for a year on a product that doesn't exist. Anyone heard anything? Quote
Chriznitch Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 yeah I've seen their magazine ads for a while now so I checked out their site...the prices turned me away...pretty weird that it boasts a couple products and a couple people Quote
AJScott Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I just checked out the page, not much gear but some good nutrition info. Quote
sitandbefit Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 The page says that Fabrizio Zangrilli owns the company. I saw a slideshow of his at the Cody ice fest a few years back. It was truly sick. On every slide that he showed his routes on, he showed another route that he thought was cooler. His main thing was that using leashless tools in the big mountains would allow small teams to climb through mixed and nasty terrain really, really fast. This was three seasons ago I think. Just a discussion point really, seems like he knows his stuff. Quote
Dru Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I was reading thru some AAJ back issues - is this same Fabrizio Zangrilli was the one who nearly got in a brawl with Koreans at K2 base camp over internet postings, and also had to get rescued off the West Rib of Denali just a few years ago? Quote
sitandbefit Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I doubt that it is a common name. A quick internet search didn't yield any results. I love a good brawl story, care to give a quick recap? Quote
dbconlin Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I've seen one of his packs in person, auctioned off at the Cody Ice Fest. It looked pretty sweet. All the right features for alpine climbing, but a litttle on the large side. I think you have to order them direct. Quote
