Dave_Schuldt Posted September 16, 2002 Posted September 16, 2002 On my bicycle trip to the San Jaun Islands I found some fun boulderinng at the beach at American Camp. The boulders are located along the south shore. Not worhth going there just for the bouldering, but if youu are going there bring your shoes. Leave the crash pad at home, you just fall off into the sand. Check the tide tables, don't go during high tide. Great place to bring the family or others who don't climb. I recomend leaveing the car at the Anacortis ferry termanal, American Camp is a short ride from Friday Harbor. The drinking water is brackish, so bring enough good stuff for the whole day.. Quote
klar404 Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 uh, if yer ever on Lopez Island an wanna check out some sweet Bouldering go to the beach just south west of the town. It's directly across from San Juan island. I gots no names or any of that stuff. You gotta look. It's only one rock. Its granitic. Four good problems and a v+++ i could never get. Quote
sketchfest Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 As long as you're cruising the San Juans, you might as well head over to Orcas and go Buildering up on top of Mt. Constitution. The old look out tower makes for a nice little session with great views. Quote
