catbirdseat Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 I was driving down Aurora Avenue in Shoreline yesterday on my way to a rehearsal. It was dusk and by this time most cars had their headlights on. There wasn't much traffic and I was going perhaps a little faster than I should have been. Up ahead in the right lane I saw an object. It was roughly square and black. As I drew closer, I could see it was moving and that it was... a guy in a wheelchair! He's right smack dab in the middle of the lane. I started to change lanes to pass him, but then I got the thought, "what if the next car doesn't see him?" So I slowed down and got behind the guy to protect him. Turns out he's going at least 25 mile per hour! After about half a block, he pulls right and onto the sidewalk. As I passed, I noticed he was wearing a black eye patch. I guess he was just a one-eyed paraplegic with a need for speed. Quote
badvoodoo Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Now there's a guy livin the lifestyle to the bleeding edge. Wrecked his car, lost his license, broke his back, lost his eye, and the modified Chevy 350 block for his wheelchair arrives on Thursday. Quote
Dru Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 I started to change lanes to pass him, but then I got the thought, "what if the next car doesn't see him?" So I slowed down and got behind the guy. Yeah, if being restricted to 25mph didn't piss him off then the guy tailgating sure did! Quote
