JGowans Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I'm trying to make up my mind on whether it'd be worth it to try Rainier this sunday. The park web site says that the routes are fairly meandering with exposed crevasses, crumbling snow bridges, and high rock fall danger. Weather seems a bit iffy. Anyone been up there this week? Quote
Dr_Crash Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I'm interested in beta too. We have planned to go Sunday-Monday for our second attempt, but the weather forecast isn't great. Pretty cold, snow level at 10,500 with chance of showers. Not looking forward to my first whiteout... drC Quote
Chriznitch Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 ahhh....I remember my first whiteout like it was yesterday Quote
skyclimb Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Routes are very meandering right now... yesterday cloud deck was at 8,000 feet... previous 4 days the park saw about 10 inches of rain I would expect upwards of a foot on the upper mountain, with as much as 3 feet due to all the rain and precipe in the last week.
