Drew_Jones Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Headed to south brother this Friday the 9th. The two of us are planning a one day ascent, so I'm wondering if we can do without snowshoes, rope, crampons. Any recent beta would be appreciated. Thanks, Drew Quote
Timcb Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 post in Olympics? Did s. brother 3? weeks ago. I'm guessing you won't find much snow until you're above lunch rock... you shouldn't need anything but your axe Quote
colt45 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I was there up last month & an axe was plenty. The route is moderate third class, and very enoyable. There is some loose rock--probably more loose rock now that it's later in the season--so a helmet is an option, but I felt OK without it. Quote
Drew_Jones Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 thanks guys. That's what I needed. Drew Quote
Kitergal Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Soo How was it? How was the route finding? If I'm going for my first time this weekend, with others who have never gone...am I going to need map and compass and some serious route finding skills...or is it pretty well marked? Thanks Marie Quote
