GJAllen Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Climb: Sibley Peak (Hidden Lake)-standard Date of Climb: 6/22/2004 Trip Report: At 10 AM left the trailhead and hiked about 3 miles till got to snow, skinned up from about 5400 level to the summit, then had a wonderful ski descent from the upper snow apron down a snow finger to the 4600 ft. level, which cut off a lot of the trail we had hiked up. Skied from 7000' down to about 4600 level continuously, but with the fast melting there will soon be a discontinuity in the lower snow finger. From there only a 45 min hike back to the car. Gear Notes: Ski crampons might be nice but not essential. Approach Notes: The hidden lake peaks trail is a good easy trail, goes fast. Quote
Skeezix Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 N Side of Hidden Lake Peak is a snow slope that hangs around a long while. Great spring/early summer yo-yo ski slope. Quote
GJAllen Posted June 25, 2004 Author Posted June 25, 2004 Yes I could see that, looked nice. But, didn't have time to sample it. Quote
