jason_a Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Hey, looking for someone interested in climbing the Ingraham/DC route between mid to late July. I'd like to do it during the week to avoid the weekenders, anyone interested? take it easy, Jason japelquist@yahoo.com Quote
wally Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Got a climb up the emmons scheduled for July 17-19. Most of those i'll be with I dont know so might as well add another if your interested. This your first climb of Rainier? Quote
jason_a Posted May 27, 2004 Author Posted May 27, 2004 I think that could work out. I got a response from another guy, so let me see what materializes in terms of dates. But otherwise I'd love to. I went up Rainier last summer via Ingraham/DC. In combination with very little sleep, rest and acclimating, I was saddled with bad altitude sickness from Muir to the top. So I'm hoping for a more pleasurable experience this time. What's your email so we can talk more? Quote
wally Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 (edited) I know the feeling, two years ago I was sick the whole trip. at the crater i went straight to sleep dredding the trip down. Its a heck of alot better when youre feeling well. If this date is better give me a post. out Edited June 3, 2004 by wally Quote
carlos Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Wally, I had a trip schedueled to Rainier (Emmons) but my team just canceled. We tried 4 years ago but did not get to the top. What are the chances to join your group? Quote
wally Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Carlos, Could be possible, I dont know how much room is at Schurman I heard it is filling up. Did you go with a guide service last time? Cuz I am not guide status. I just like to walk up big hills with a load of crap on my back. If there is room for you at Schurman, you can tie in to my rope as long as you promise not to pluck my scrawny but off the hill. still interested? out Quote
carlos Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Still very interesed. Last time we did not go with a guide. Regarding room at Shurman, I will call the rangers, but I was planning on taking my tent and camp out around Shurman. Believe, I don't have no intention to pluck any but off the mountain. So, do we have a deal? Quote
wally Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Yeah I think it will work out. I will most likely be on Rainier That Saturday morning around 9:00. we can communicate more the closer it gets. Are you flying in from NYC and planning on being in the neighborhood for a while? out Quote
Matthew Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Anybody looking to summit the weekend of July 24th or the 31st? I'm looking to hook up with one or more competent bodies around then... or I could do late June... (?) Quote
carlos Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Wally, Not really, I will get there on Friday and flight back on Monday late at night. Just want to get to the top this time, if the mountain is on my side. Let keep in touch in the next few weeks to coordinate the details around timing and equipement. My email is carlosdealba@yahoo.com Quote
fenderfour Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 FYI - CC.com does have a private message function. Check it out. Quote
ndcrew10 Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 My name is Sean. I am looking for a partner/team to join to climb both Rainier and Shasta this summer. I am a former RMI employee and have some experience on Rainier, in addition to some hook ups in Ashford (Basecamp). I am a strong individual and will not be a liability on the rope. Would prefer to climb in July or later. Email me at ndcrew10@hotmail.com... Thanks. Quote
ndcrew10 Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Are you climbing solo and searching for a partner? Supplies? Rope, food, etc... what are the details of your summit plans? I am interested... lets talk. Sean Quote
