Off_White Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 The weekly event is a happening thing, here's a few shots from 7/7/04
Off_White Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 Kind of thick and sultry today (Wednesday 7/14), but it'll be a happening thing all the same. I expect I'll go wallow in the ultra cold free old quarry pool at the Tenino city park first, so I won't be cragging until 5:30 or 6:00 is my guess.
Off_White Posted July 21, 2004 Author Posted July 21, 2004 Wednesday! Wednesday! Be There! Be There! Gonna clean up a new route today, might even be easier than 5.10....
Off_White Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 Temperatures look to be lovely this evening, and the climbing should be prime. We opened up a new moderate 5.10 a couple weeks ago too, now sporting a couple of those six inch long 5/8" bolts for an anchor too.
CPOly Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 What's the weather looking like down there Off? There's a bit of a drizzle here in Oly.
Off_White Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 It's started to rain. Check back a little later and we'll see if it keeps up or dries off.
Off_White Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 3:10 pm update: The ground and shrubbery is wet, but the rock feels dry, and I don't think it's taken on enough water to weaken the sandstone. At this point I'm going to give things a tentative thumbs up.
CPOly Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Yes indeed, another good night. Glad you could make it out Arlen!
Off_White Posted August 10, 2004 Author Posted August 10, 2004 Weather looks to be good this week, though it looks like I will be cragging at Donner Summit instead of Tenino this Wednesday. Ya'll should come on out and have fun, I'll see you the following week.
Drederek Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 With just a hint of a breeze it was comfortable to climb by 7 last nite. By the time the bats came streaming out of the cracks conditions were ideal. See you next week Off!
CPOly Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 So Off, what are the chances of things drying up out there by tonight?
Off_White Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Depends on what it does during the course of the day. We've had a little rain earlier this morning, but it may be okay. I'll walk over and check things out around 3:00 and post my observations. Me, I'm an optimist, though that seldom seems to have an effect on how the world works.
Drederek Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I am very optimistic today. I'll be out if you think we got a chance.
Off_White Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 All systems are go. We had one brief squall today, so the ground is damp but the rock feels fine. I've got to take off at 6:30, but of course ya'll can stay til the bats come out.
Peter_Puget Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 (edited) Weather was good today! Edited September 2, 2004 by Peter_Puget
Drederek Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Not a cloud in the sky last evening. Bats came out at 8:24!!!
CPOly Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Beautiful night last night. Perfect temps for some nice friction. Thanks for shooting that rope up virgins. Nice picture PP.
Off_White Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Peter Puget said: Weather was good today! yes it was, and always a pleasure to see you PP!
CPOly Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Are you getting any of this precipitation that's hitting Olympia down there in Tenino?
Off_White Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 Looks like we had a squall move through, but things have dried up. I think the cliff is dry enough for climbing.
Off_White Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 Ahhh fuggedahboudit, it's raining.
Drederek Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Heya Off all of a sudden the weather has taken a turn for the better. Any chance the cliff might dry up for wednesday? I won't hold to your reply just wondering if we had a shot!
CPOly Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 I sure hope it does. Although we might have to get out tomorrow instead as more precipitation is "predicted" to move in on Wed.
Off_White Posted September 20, 2004 Author Posted September 20, 2004 I'll stroll down the crag today and check it out. The end of last week, there were the start of some serious drips, but only a few, so naturally I'm optimistic.
