Approach Notes: Three miles of road. Quote
scandere Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 How did you guys approach in to the glacier? Is the Heloitrope ridge trailhead accessible by car? Quote
cracked Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 By now, I'm sure you can get to the trailhead. We walked for an hour, but it's been way warm lately. Quote
Climzalot Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 It will be quite a while before you can get to the trailhead on pavement. The road is still snowed in 1.5 miles from the trailhead and there is up to 4 feet of snow in places. This was as of 4/3/04. We made it to the trailhead with the help of frozen snow and 4WD but it was hairy to say the least. Quote
olyclimber Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Has anyone been up Road 39 since this TR? I'm wonder if a non-four wheel drive can making it up to the trailhead, and what the trail conditions are. Thanks... Quote
