matosan Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I hear someone skied the stonecrop glacier on the north face of Slalok late last week. (Slalok is above Joffre Lakes off Duffey Highway in BC) must have been fun. i really want to ski that line this year. anyone know who it was? Quote
Watt Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I know some folks who have done it and apart from a steep bit at the bottom, they said it wasn't that bad, no worse than Currie N face. However, I wouldn't have done it last week. I have been up there in better storm cycles than last week's and seen a crown line across the entire face, visible from the road. It was like one metre deep Still, one of those things you always want to do, isn't it? Make a weekend out of it and do N face of Tzil too Report back if you live Quote
Watt Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 ooohhhh. ohhhhhh. ohhhhhhh How come I've never done it over the years Top priority now, thanks Matt Quote
jordop Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Crowny Granted this is fall, and shearing to the ice is a different scenario, but you get a sense of the scale Quote
