JonMW Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 BD is out of them. Apparently a rash of handle breakages has cleaned them out. Seems a waste to toss the shovel if unable to find merely a handle. Checked REI and Marmot Mountain Works too. Any suggestions? Please PM. Quote
boatskiclimbsail Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Go to your local windsurfing shop, get a piece of an old broken boom that fits (they come in tons of diameters) and a spring clip. At that rate, you could even go carbon fiber! T-handles are easy to make, drill a hole in a piece of wood and throw in a set screw. Quote
Jarred_Jackman Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Use your ice axe. I haven't used my handle for my BD shovel in about 4 years. lighter lighter lighter Quote
dirtwigle Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I have a handle from an old Ramer shovel that is just collecting dust. It is an alluminum telescoping handle. The O.D. is 31mm on the main shaft and the tele shaft with the "D" handle is 28mm. A six pack of good beer makes it yours. Quote
