Bronco Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 HEY!! be a good newbie - clean and lube your cams once in a while. Dont do like me and wait unitl you are trying to place your first piece 15' off the ground to discover the thing is gummed up and not working while some of your friends/mentors are watching you pound your cam on the rock and plead with it to open - "heh heh, ahh, come on baby, ahh shoot" I used a few drops of heavy duty silicone being careful to wipe off all excess lubrication. Now that I am done, what do you guys use?? Quote
Dru Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 you should use graphite spray, white lightning bike chain lube, metolius cam lube or similar. the wax based ones like white lightning/metolius are the best. dont use tri flow or wd40 cause those 2 suck up dirt and cause a worse prob over the long term. boiling your cam before you white-lightning it improves the lube but dont get any plastic parts in the boiling water.
