dbb Posted November 11, 2003 Posted November 11, 2003 if anyone has an extra ticket, I'd be happy to buy it!
Figger_Eight Posted November 11, 2003 Posted November 11, 2003 They added a second show tonight...I don't know if there are tickets left for it though.
Figger_Eight Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 The slide show last night was friggin' great. The guy has arguably the best ones in the biz. Like him or not, the guy can throw down Notable moment: Twight talking much smack about climbing discussion boards in a room full of CC.comers. It cracked my shit up because he was totally right
chelle Posted November 13, 2003 Author Posted November 13, 2003 It was a great show. I likes how he's talk a bit and then show us the multimedia bit. His pictures are really beautiful. Unlike other presenters I've seen (except maybe Scott Backes) I got a sense that he was really sharing his experience rather than clicking through slides and telling us what was done and when. Didn't expect almost 3 full hours of entertainment since most shows are about an hour. Definately an evening well spent.
Pencil_Pusher Posted November 14, 2003 Posted November 14, 2003 So was the photo on Extreme Alpinism touched up? I wondered this because it looks like on the left side of the photo, underneath the snow, there is a triangular shaped shadow. Added that he's got a locker on the last piece and his moves go to nowhere, I figured this was a poser shot. I like the book, but there are a few things in it that have me go
chelle Posted November 14, 2003 Author Posted November 14, 2003 Don't really know what you're referencing there PP. His shows were of his trip up Mt. Bradly in winter (the gift that keeps on giving), the Czec Direct on McKinley in 2000, and a tribute to climbers he has known who are now dead. It was all really well done.
