PaulB Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Does anyone know if there has been flood damage on the road up to the Heliotrope Ridge trailhead? Quote
Ade Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 The Glacier Road was starting to wash out on Sunday. The river has burst its banks and is eroding the road surface about 4 miles from the main road. I informed the Ranger Station in Glacier but have no idea what, if any, action they planned to take. I would definitely call before heading to Baker. Ade Quote
Bronco Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 I'd definetly call before heading anywhere in the N. Cascades this weekend. I hear the Mtn. Loop is closed indefinetly at Robe or maybe Verlot and rumors of closures on Hwy 20 at Concrete and Hamilton as well as the Darrington/Arlington Hwy. HWY 2 is open now. Quote
PaulB Posted October 23, 2003 Author Posted October 23, 2003 I called the park this afternoon, and they said that the Glacier Creek Road is open, with a rough spot around mile 4 that is passable with careful driving. Quote
