kurthicks Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 i'm glad to see that someone isn't just going to climb B-choss in a day from the trailhead. to you. if you're going to camp at Golden, watch out for the "green lakes" skeeters...they're huge this year. they should be dying down a little by now though as compared to when i was there 2 weeks ago. those bastards pack a punch. head up the drainage up towards the ponds (the last water) that are south of Golden Lake, following a stream. from there you can gain the NW ridge by shooting for the obvious saddle, up the choss, and follow the climbers' trail to the summit. i didn't find any need to take a helmet when i went, but rockfall could possibly be an issue when you're getting on the ridge if you're partner is clumsy... are you heading up friday?
