Daniel in the Beckey guide, but I can't find any mention on the web of anyone ever going that route. Does anyone here have any info on the route? rock-ice Posted July 25, 2003 Share Posted July 25, 2003 Beckey makes it sound pretty straight forward and the approach appears shorter than the east side routes. Much more fun than the 5 or so mile approach to Peggy's pond. Let me know when you get back if it wasn't too bad. Enjoy and bring deet. ncascademtns Posted July 28, 2003 Share Posted July 28, 2003 Saturday we did Daniel via the Lynch Gulch/Lynch Glacier. Left the trailhead at 9:00am and took a healthy break at Peasoup Lake. Was on the Summit at 7:30pm. We bivy'd on the ridge down to Peggy's Pond. The south side from Venus Lake looks do-able. Without looking at a map, where would you start from? And the climb up to spade lake from wapatus is definitely not fun. Sorry about that, hope I didn't mislead anyone. I was looking at a cheap internet topo. Last year we tried it in one and nearly collapsed. We could have done it in 1 day with an earlier start. The bugs weren't that bad where we bivy'd. Not sure about Peggy's Pond.
