So you thought being a climber and talking about it a lot meant you were a bit of an anorak? Think again! A recent survey says boasting about taking part in extreme sports is likely to prove a hit with the opposite sex. The poll found those who go on adventure holidays or who like a spot of rock climbing are seen as exciting, cultured and interesting!

Answers showed that 17% of those questioned thought people who were adventurous were more attractive; 47% believed they were more interesting; 25% more cultured; and 49% more exciting.

According to the poll, 12% of men and women own up to boasting about adventurous conquests, while 3% have told a "tall story".

The survey was on behalf of The Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel and Sports Show 2002, which takes place at London's Olympia from January 11 to 13.
