Access is via Big Beaver Creek and then cross it at Access Creek (the creek that drains due east of Luna). Head up Access Creek staying on the north side. There are places to camp at the head of the Access Creek basin just below Luna Peak. Cool area and a nice little 'schwack up Access Creek. cool.gif

Luna will be far out of your way unless you're planning to do a traverse. A few years ago me and a friend started at the Hannegan Pass trailhead, went up Easy ridge and through Perfect Pass, climbed Challenger, dropped into Luna cirque and up to Luna Lake, up to Luna Pass (Luna Peak is easy from there), then did Fury from Luna Pass and then out via Access Creek to Ross Lake. It was a great trip which took six days. But you add a lot of work to reach Luna Peak (2 or more extra days - Luna Cirque is deep!) if all you're planning to do is Challenger.

I've done the Big Beaver- Challenger Arm- Mt. Challenger-Luna Cirque-Mt. Fury-Luna Peak-Access Creek loop route. Tell you what, you don't want to go up Access Creek. It was tough enough coming down. But if that is the only peak you are interested in, that is the shortest route.
