mvs Posted February 4, 2001 Posted February 4, 2001 Pawing through some old bins downtown. This older issue featured Mount Si and a good article on frost fracturing. Note the subdivision of grades above 4.9. For more info, see http://www.mountainwerks.com/cma/scrambler.htm. =), --Michael [This message has been edited by mvs (edited 02-04-2001).] Quote

peterclimb Posted February 5, 2001 Posted February 5, 2001 Ah, I haven't seen a copy of X-Scrambler in years. Gosh, that brings back heaps of memories- listening to Disraeli Gears on 8-track in my '60 Fury on the way back from a hard day of 3.7 and 3.8's on Cathedral Wall. Rocky Mountain NP was a mecca for tough scramblers in the late 60's to mid 70's. mvs Posted February 5, 2001 Author Posted February 5, 2001 Peterclimb: weren't you profiled in the October '78 issue? I seem to remember a long rant about scramblers not taking chances anymore. You had a really good "sneer" picture. Quote
