Mt. Ballard

A team of approximately 7 climbers was spotted this evening humping gigantic packs up Seattle's famous Mt. Ballard.

Mt. Ballard is located in Seattle's Ballard district, home of famous haunts such as Second Ascent used mountaineering equipment, the Stoney-G outdoor rock climbing training center, and the beach paradise known as Golden Gardens. Mt. Ballard juts straight out of the water near Golden Gardens and rises towards the sky for about at least 150 feet before summiting at the Sound View flats. Mt. Ballard is believed to be first summitted by a group of drunken sailors in June of 1886. The FWA was believed to be that following December, by the same sailors, who were still drunk.

It is believed that the team of 7 climbers has been training for months at the Stoney-G training center for this event. They were last seen on the upper third of the mountain by a local runner. According to her reports, they had headlamps and were planning on climbing through the night, when the slopes were more stable, and hoping to summit by morning. Of course the runner was able to run up the mountain in a matter of minutes, but the runner wasn't hauling 80 pounds of gear. She was just hauling her flabby thighs. May Godspeed be with them.
