Blix has told Iraq they need to destroy those missles. If they don't, you know that's gotta help Bush's case in world opinion. If they do, they lower even more their ability to inflict some damage on an invader.

This situation seems similar to one where some thug holding you at gunpoint tells you to hold still while he ties you up. You're already pretty f*cked but complying with this demand even makes you more vulnerable. Tough call.

It's a double edged sword. If he destroys them while facing the threat of an invasion, could there be greater 'evidence' of his willingness to comply? he'd have fewer missiles but then it would be commensurably difficult to accuse him of hiding something else. This may be his best chance to survive this crisis.
